NORWAY — “Continuing,” an art exhibit of 12 works by Nikki Millonzi, is now showing at the Norway Memorial Library. The show includes eight oil paintings, two monoprints and two sculptural pieces.
Millonzi has lived with her family in the Oxford Hills area for the past 30 years. As artist and art teacher, she has worked in the Buckfield schools for 18 years, currently teaching art at Buckfield High School in RSU 10.
Of her work, she said, “I love to paint. I love to squeeze the paint from its tube onto the pallet and mix it with linseed oil or turpentine. It has a wonderful smell that takes me back to my childhood and Dad’s paintings. The first color… what will it be? What brush, palette knife or tool will I use? Then color meets white and it begins.”
This exhibit is on display in the library’s Reference Room and may be seen any time the library is open.
The library will host a “First Friday” program from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, June 4, and Millonzi will be present to meet people and talk about her work. The display will remain on view through June. For more information, call 743-5309 or visit www.norway.lib.me.us.
