AUBURN — Troy Haefele found the net with just 1:35 left in regulation to lift St. Dom’s to a narrow 9-8 win over Morse in a boy’s lacrosse tilt Tuesday.
Haefele led the undefeated Saints (7-0) with six goals and one assist, while Matt Adams, Shawn O’Connell and Spencer Martin also tallied to complete the scoring. Cody Rodrigue made 12 saves to notch the win.
The Shipbuilders (4-3) received three goals from Matt Buczkonski, while Fleming Milke tallied a pair of goals. Schyler Mace and Otto Wermairs also scored to round out the final tally.
Alex Small turned aside nine shots in the cage for Morse.
Brunswick 19, Edward Little 4
BRUNSWICK — Keri O’Connor and Dakota Foster netted five goals each to lead Brunswick to a 19-4 victory over Edward Little in KVAC girls’ lacrosse action Tuesday.
Lydia Caputi chipped in for the powerhouse Dragons (5-1) with four goals and one assist, while Susannah Smith and Liz Faulkner each added two goals. A single tally by Anne Kelly completed the scoring.
Molly Herman made four saves to record the win.
The Red Eddies (1-4) were paced by Sadie Voisine with two goals, while Miranda Casey and Gabby Laperrier also tallied. Taylor Landry turned aside 11 shots in the cage for EL.
Yarmouth 9, Gray-NG 6
YARMOUTH — Aidan Sullivan ignited a four-run fourth inning for Yarmouth as the Yachtsmen outhustled Gray-New Gloucester 9-6 in a WMC baseball tilt Tuesday.
The Patriots (3-5) jumped out to an early advantage with a run in each of the first three innings.
The Clippers (6-0) answered with four runs in the bottom of the third, led by Campbell Haley and Ryan Cody.
Chester Jacobs scattered five hits over five innings to earn the mound win. Gray-New Gloucester added two runs in the fifth and one more in the sixth, but the gap was already too wide.
Austen Keenan and Tim Lerette hit doubles for the Patriots. Lerette finished with a double and two singles.
Telstar 15, Jay 5
JAY — Dan Whitney ignited an eight-run third inning as Telstar ran away from Jay for a 15-5 victory in an MVC baseball game Tuesday afternoon.
Whitney belted an RBI double to spark that big rally, while T.J. O’Connor, Corey Howard, Casey Thornton and Ben Field all contributed with multiple hits and RBIs. Field earned the mound win after scattering eight hits in five innings of work.
The Tigers (2-5) saw Drew Capen tagged with the loss after a painful first four frames.
Winthrop 4, Lisbon 2
LISBON — Tyler Foster belted an RBI double in the bottom of the seventh inning to lift Winthrop to a 4-2 victory over Lisbon in a MVC baseball matchup Tuesday.
The Greyhounds (2-5) jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the first and held it through three innings. The Ramblers (2-3) scored went ahead 2-1 in the fourth when Travis smacked an RBI triple and later scored on an error.
Tyler Reeve earned the win for Winthrop, striking out 10 batters including the last of the game with runners on first and third. Ryan Riordan went the distance for Lisbon and scattered five hits.
Lisbon 25, Winthrop 0
LISBON — Kimber Morse scattered three hits and drew plenty of run support as Lisbon hustled to a 25-0 romp over Winthrop in MVC softball action Tuesday.
Shauna Riordan led the Greyhounds with three hits and four RBIs, while Alexa Harmon belted a pair of hits and drove in four runs. Krystin Ramich also contributed with three hits and three RBIs in a well-balanced attack.
The Ramblers received singles from Randi Dennett and Meg Scully, while Alyssa Arsenault hit a double.
