RANGELEY — Ethan Jackson paced Buckfield with 21 points as the Bucks defeated Rangeley 53-45 in boys’ basketball action Friday.
Zach Grover chipped in with 15 points, while Noah Wiley had 12 points for the Bucks (4-6).
Kyle LaRochelle led the Lakers (7-4) with 26 points, and early in the game reached the 1,000-career-point mark.
Dirigo 67, Telstar 53
DIXFIELD — Cooper Chiasson registered a team-high 24 points as Dirigo subdued Telstar 67-53 in boys’ basketball action Friday.
The Rebels (3-7) cut their deficit to four late in the third quarter. But the Cougars (7-4) pounced back in the fourth quarter.
Jeremy St. Germain added 17 points for Dirigo.
Jarrett Bean netted a game-high 30 points, including 23 in the first half, for Telstar in the losing effot.
Carrabec 45, Mt. Abram 36
SALEM — Carrabec held off a late charge from Mt. Abram for a 45-36 victory in a boys’ MVC basketball contest Friday.
The Cobras (3-9) jumped out to a 28-7 lead at halftime, but the Roadrunners cut the deficit down to three points with three minutes remaining in the game. Carrabec put the nail in the coffin by hitting 10 of its final 14 free throws.
Alex Stafford led the Cobras with 15 points, while Dylan Willette and Evan Holzworth each had 14 points.
Nate Luce led the Roadrunners (1-9) with 12 points while Sam Storer had 10 points.
Old Orchard Beach 50, Poland 46
POLAND — Senior guard Ian Regan recorded a team-leading 17 points as Old Orchard Beach edged Poland 50-46 in boys’ basketball action Friday.
The Seagulls (3-5) led by seven or more for much of the game, but the Knights (0-8) managed to tie the game with 1:30 remaining in regulation.
Regan came through with a timely field goal, and Old Orchard held on down the stretch.
Senior guard Mike Davis contributed 11 points on four field goals, including a 3-pointer, for Old Orchard Beach.
Freshman gaurd Isaiah Hill furnished a team-leading 17 points for the Knights (0-8) in the losing effort.
Hall-Dale 74, Lisbon 36
LISBON — Junior forward Ashtyn Abbott drained a game-high 25 points to power Hall-Dale to a 74-36 victory over Lisbon in boys’ basketball action Friday.
The Greyhounds (6-4) played even in the first half, taking a 27-23 lead. But the Bulldogs (10-0) bounded back with 26-4 and 25-5 quarters to pull away in the second half.
Senior guard Jonah Sautter paced the Greyhounds with 14 points in the losing effort.
Gorham 59, Lewiston 46
LEWISTON — Junior guard Bode Meader tossed a game-high 14 points to lead Gorham to a 59-46 triumph over Lewiston in boys’ basketball action Friday afternoon.
The Rams (5-5) pounded out a 33-16 lead at haltime. Senior center Ryan Reno contributed 11 points for Gorham.
The Blue Devils (2-7) made an 8-2 run in the second half to shrink the margin to 11 points, but a pair of 3-pointers by Gorham propelled it to the finish line.
Senoir gaurd Garrett Poussard notched a team-leading nine points for Lewiston in the losing effort.
Monmouth 77, Carrabec 24
MONMOUTH — Abby Ferland scored a game-high 15 points as Monmouth galloped to a 77-24 victory over Carrabec in girls’ basketball action Friday afternoon.
The Mustangs (10-1) took a 28-9 halftime lead. Kaeti Butterfield contributed 14 points, while Tia Day added 12 points for Monmouth.
Sky Welch was the leading scorer for the Cobras with seven points in the losing effort.
St. Dom’s 39, Hyde 21
AUBURN — Caroline Gastonguay netted a team-leading 12 points as St. Dom’s ran off with a 39-21 victory over Hyde in girls’ basketball action Friday.
The Saints led 39-19 at the conclusion of the third quarter and held on despite going scoreless in the final quarter.
Skye Rogers chimed in with five field goals, including four in the third quarter for 10 points for the Saints.
Jada Holford collected 16 of the Wolfpack’s 21 points in the losing effort.
Rangeley 78, Buckfield 16
RANGELEY — Senior forward Natasha Haley posted a game-high 23 points as Rangeley flooded Buckfield 78-16 in girls’ basketball action Friday.
The Lakers (9-2) jumped out to a dazzling 32-0 lead in the first quarter. Junior guard Brooke Egan contributed 20 points and seven steals for Rangeley.
Senior guard Thea Quick and sophomore forward Deja Bennett had four points each for the Bucks (1-9) in the losing effort.
Leavitt 31, Fryeburg 16
FRYEBURG — Sophie Gilbert grabbed a team-high 19 points as Leavitt dispatched Fryeburg 31-16 in girls’ basketball action Friday afternoon.
The Hornets stung early with a 13-4 first-quarter lead. Taylor White chipped in with six points for Leavitt.
Sophomore Sierra Lyman led the Raiders with seven points in the losing effort.
Gorham 66, Lewiston 35
LEWISTON — Freshman guard Adele Nadeau tabulated a game-high 21 points and hit three 3-pointers in the third quarter to navigate Gorham to a 66-35 victory over Lewiston in girls’ basketball action Friday evening.
The Rams (6-4) turned up the tempo in the second half with a 34-16 run in the stanza. Junior forward Mackenzie Holmes contributed 19 points for Gorham.
Senior forward Victoria Harris recorded a team-high 11 points for Lewiston in the losing effort.
Bangor 3, Edward Little 2
BANGOR — In a back and forth contest, Nick Boudreau scored to give Bangor a 3-2 victory over Edward Little in Class A North boys’ hockey contest Friday.
Jacob Monroe opened the scoring for the Rams (6-1) before Ben Cassidy tied the game for the Red Eddies in the second period. David Brown also scored for the Rams, while Logan Alexander had a power play marker in the third for EL (4-3).
Jacob Henry made 15 saves for the Rams. Gavin Toussaint stopped 13 shots for the Red Eddies.
