Local women will discuss military experience

BETHEL — The Bethel Historical Society will feature an oral history session from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 27, in the meeting room of the Dr. Moses Mason House.

In honor of Women’s History Month, women who have served in several branches of the military services will discuss their careers, some extending back to World War II.

The role of women in the military has changed dramatically since the 1940s and the forum is designed to hear first-hand accounts of the challenges women have faced since that time. Any Bethel area women who have served in the military and are interested in participating in the panel discussion should call the society office at 824-2908 or 1-800-824-2910.
