Lois D. Rousseau


AUBURN — Lois Darleen Fey Rousseau, 90, of Lewiston, passed away on Saturday, April 17,  at Clover Manor.

She was born in Nebraska City, Neb., Nov. 13, 1919, the daughter of the late Erich and Margaret Buess Fey. She graduated from Nebraska City High School and attended Peru Nebraska State College and the University of Maine.

In Nebraska she worked for the Chamber of Commerce and Credit Bureau, the Nebraska City News Press and the Otoe County Clerk’s Office. She then worked for the state department of education in the state capitol in Lincoln, where she met her future husband, who was an instructor in the U.S. Air Force there. She moved to Tampa, Fla., where she managed a housing unit for the city.

She married Harcourt Louis Rousseau of Lewiston in 1948 and was employed at Central Maine Medical Center as a secretary and then for a number of years as a real estate broker.

She was a member of Pine Cone Chapter #26 Order of Eastern Star, Androscoggin Historical Society; Women’s Literary Union; Garden Club; YWCA; AARP and the CMMC Women’s Auxiliary Association.

She is survived by her husband of Lewiston; two nephews, Paul Figoli and wife, Mary, of Massaschusetts; and Kenneth Heng and wife, Nancy, of Colorado; and a niece, Loi Jean Kail, of New York City.

She was predeceased by two sisters, Norma Jean Heng and Eileen Kail; and a nephew, Lee Kail, Jr.
