The Lewiston School Committee Monday endorsed a plan put forward by the LHS Football Booster Club to install lights at Lewiston Athletic Park so night football games can be played.

Booster spokesman Ronald J. Hecker said plans call for four 70-foot poles, each with 16 lights, to be installed at no cost to the city.

The School Committee approved having the system connected to Lewiston Junior High School, which is adjacent to LAP. The City Council will be asked on March 19 to give final approval to the plan.
