MILAN N. H. — A beautiful day for an air show came to a tragic end here when the plane flown by Bob Weymouth, 64, of Dresden, Maine, crashed at the Berlin  Airport shortly before 3 p.m. on Sunday.

According to Richard Day, Berlin Chamber of Commerce director, the crash was caused by wind shear.

According to officials, Weymouth seemed to be making a pass to come into the runway, but a cross current of air caught his wing tip. Apparently to avoid flying too close to the crowd, he turned sharply and crashed on the runway from a very low altitude.
