Lucille B. Rivard


LEWISTON – Lucille B. Rivard, 84, of 33 Roger St., Lewiston, and formerly of 24 Gage Lane, Auburn, died peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 7, at Marshwood Center For Health Care & Rehabilitation with her family by her side.

She was born in Lewiston on July 22, 1922, the daughter of William and Maria (Descheneaux) Bazinet and had been a resident of this community all of her life.

She was employed as a weaver in the local textile industry for many years until her retirement.

She married Pierre J. Rivard on Sept. 2, 1946, and he died on May 18, 2004.

She was a dedicated life time member of St. Mary’s Church.

She enjoyed music and played the accordion on local radio stations. She also was an avid roller skater in her younger years.

She is survived by four sons, Peter Rivard, and his wife, Jo, of Owensboro, Ky., Gerard Rivard, and his wife, Penny, of Kingwood, Texas, David Rivard, and his companion, Mary, of Fort Lauderdale, Fla. and Lucien Rivard, and his wife, Sue Poulin, of Litchfield; one daughter, Susan Rivard of Lewiston; four brothers, Larry Bazinet of Lewiston, Leon Bazinet, and his wife, Shirley, of Pompano Beach, Fla., Maurice Bazinet of Lewiston and Marcel Bazinet, and his wife, Betty, of Greene; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews.
