AUBURN — Mabel Rose Lauze, 95, of 438 East Ave., Lewiston, died Tuesday, April 27, at the Hospice House.
She was born in Lewiston, Feb. 4, 1915, the daughter of Alphonse and Marie-Louise Rodrigue Turcotte. She attended St. Mary’s School, and worked for many years as a seamstress at the Pepperell Mill, and a school crossing guard for the city of Lewiston.
On May 25, 1946, she married Lorenzo J. Lauze, who passed away in 1986. A member of the Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul, Prince of Peace Parish, she also belonged to the Dames de St. Anne, and the Living Rosary of Our Lady of Grace. She loved time spent with friends and family, and especially enjoyed summering at the family camp on Lake Annabessacook. Survivors include a son, the Rev. Michael Lauze, O.M.I., of Lewiston; a daughter, Lucille and husband, Roger Couturier, of Greene; three grandchildren, Jean, Andre and Marc; and two great-grandchildren, Emma and Xavier.
Besides her parents and husband, she was predeceased by two brothers, Albany and Robert Turcotte; and two sisters, Simonne Guilmette and Lucille Nadeau.
