Madeline A. Morin

LAKE WORTH, Fla. – Madeline Alice Morin, nee Rousseau, daughter of Joseph and Josephine Berube Rousseau, passed gently to the Lord on Jan. 23.

She was born in Lewiston on July 21, 1923, and was the wife of 65 years of Omer Morin. She was a homemaker, seamstress and fine quilter, having been trained by some of Maine’s best quilters.

She and her husband looked forward to and enjoyed their yearly trips from Maine to Florida, starting in 1960, always stopping along the way to visit relatives and friends.

An avid sports enthusiast, she followed the professional baseball season and enjoyed her Atlanta Braves. She also looked forward to college football games at FAU. She was also always available to play a game of cards and pokeno!

She had a “green thumb,” having been raised on a farm; she could make anything grow. She was loved by all who met her and always had a kind word and an understanding ear for all. She will be greatly missed!

She is survived by her beloved children, Patricia Morin, Rachel Deckard, Dennis Morin, Paulette McNally (Harry) and Diane Carson (Robert,) all of Florida; two sisters, Jane Laliberte and Therese Goulet, both of Lewiston; and her grandchildren, Chad (Marlo) and Scott Deckard, Tiffany Eaton and Shawn and Shane Murray, who were a constant joy to her and she delighted in their accomplishments.
