Maine artists showcase ‘… scapes’


LEWISTON — The newest exhibition at L/A Arts’ Gallery 5, titled “… scapes,” will feature work by 26 Maine artists who focused on landscapes, urban cityscapes or abstract color-scapes.

An opening reception will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, April 2, in the gallery at 49 Lisbon St. This event is free. Light refreshments will be served.

“Many types of artwork, styles and various mediums are represented in this show. … It is a lot of local talent in one room and a reminder of what Lewiston-Auburn has to offer to the Maine art scene,” said curator Jeanelle Demers.

Artists showing in the “… scapes” exhibit are Julie Bailey-Breau, Pam Bell, Len Bartel, Stephanie Berry, Cynthia Cannone, William Cox, Grayling E. Cunningham, Paul Davies, Jeanelle Demers, Jody Dube, Anastasia Gatto, Robert Gibson, Alan Holbrook, Scott D. Hunter and Ann L. Krumrein.

Also, Jason Landry, Kerry Landry, Steven Langerman, Vincent Myrand, Jim Nickelson, Ian B. Ormon, Judson Peck, Michael Peitersen, David Peitersen, Melanie Therrien and Michael E. Woodward. Many will be in attendance at the opening reception.


The “… scapes” exhibit may be viewed from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, and from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Appointments may also be scheduled by calling 782-7228.
