Maine heating oil price rises

AUGUSTA, Maine (AP) — Maine energy officials say signs of an economic recovery are pushing up oil prices.

The Governor’s Office of Energy Independence and Security said Monday that the average price for home heating oil rose two cents from last week to $2.76 per gallon.

The office’s weekly survey found the lowest price of $2.47 per gallon in western Maine and highest price of $3.25 per gallon in the eastern part of the state.
