BATH, Maine (AP) — A 28-year-old Maine man is going to prison for four years for a high-speed, drunken-driving crash that killed one of his best friends.
Matthew Doucette of Portland was sentenced Wednesday in Sagadahoc County Superior Court in Bath.
Doucette pleaded guilty last month to manslaughter and aggravated drunken driving.
Police say Doucette’s blood-alcohol content was nearly twice the legal limit for driving last July when he crashed his car at 100 mph on Interstate 295 in Bowdoinham. His passenger, 25-year-old Rachel Mooney of Brunswick, died of injuries sustained in the crash.
