PORTLAND, Maine (AP) — A Maine woman charged with beating her husband with a bat and then shooting herself to cover up the crime wants some evidence against her thrown out because police lied to get a search warrant.
The Portland Press Herald says prosecutors acknowledge some of the information in a request for a search warrant was inaccurate, but they say it was an honest mistake and should not affect the case against 47-year-old Linda Dolloff of Standish.
Linda Dolloff has pleaded not guilty to charges she beat her 53-year-old husband Jeffrey Dolloff so severely officers who responded to the April 12, 2009 incident did not believe he would survive.
She is then alleged to have shot herself in the abdomen to make the case look like a home invasion.
