Maine Woodworking Expo set for Aug 29-30


BRUNSWICK — The Maine Woodworking Expo 2015 will be held at the Fort Andross/Cabot Mill Building in the Fort Andross Event Center next to Cabot Mill Antiques, 14 Maine St.

Show hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 29, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 30.

The expo will showcase exceptional quality furniture and wood accessories by noted Maine craftsmen and women. Members of the Guild and Kennebec Valley Woodworkers Association will show how unique designs, refined joinery techniques and fine finishes.

Pieces include desks, nightstands, beds, credenzas, caskets, chairs, dressers, period furniture, lamps, fine art, wood turnings, marquetry, jewelry boxes and baskets, handmade guitars and staircases. If you don’t see what you need, nearly all woodworkers will make furniture to your specifications.

The Guild and the KVWA were formed 30 years ago to promote the craft of woodworking and to counsel and assist in the advancement of skills and abilities.
