How sad that some Bates College students were not intelligent enough to yield the right of way to an ambulance to help one of their own. Police brutality?
What about making adult choices, such as putting their hands on their heads and leaving peacefully?
The young man who has been charged with injuring the police officer should be held accountable for the expenses — medical and professional. The city will be without this officer’s service for many weeks at a busy time of year.
It is time to ignore the students’ “rights” of traditional drinking and encourage them to make adult choices.
