PHILLIPS – A Phillips man faces charges after he allegedly threw a brick at a passing vehicle and then physically assaulted the man in the car after he returned to talk, police said.
Brent T. Adams, 33, was arrested on a charge of criminal threatening with a dangerous weapon – a brick – on Friday night, Franklin County Sheriff’s Department Lt. Niles Yeaton said Monday.
Cpl. Steve Charles also issued summons to Adams on charges of reckless conduct with a dangerous weapon because it was a moving vehicle, criminal mischief and assault, Yeaton said.
Adams was upset over a money issue and threw the brick at the vehicle as it was passing by the intersection of River Road and Main Street, Yeaton said.
The brick hit the door of the vehicle and put a rectangular dent the size of a brick in it, he said.
The driver of the vehicle went back to talk to Adams, he said, then police said Adams hit him a couple of times causing injury, a swollen lip.
Adams was taken to Franklin County Detention Center in Farmington and released on $3,000 unsecured bail for a Farmington court appearance on Sept. 20.
