Man charged with assaulting emergency worker


FRYEBURG – Police arrested a man last Friday after he flipped his car and then allegedly assaulted an emergency medical provider who was part of the ambulance crew treating him, according to a brief police report.

Fryeburg police arrested Alexander O. Erickson, 22, of Stoneham and charged him with operating under the influence, driving to endanger, imprudent speed and assault of an EMS provider, the report said. He was taken to Oxford County Jail and released on $100 cash bail.

The arresting officer was not available to provide more details about the accident or charges, or injuries to either Erickson or the EMS provider.

Erickson was driving on Route 5 near Frog Alley when he got into the accident around 10:30 p.m., the report stated. There were no other vehicles involved.
