Man pinned by lawn tractor dies

WISCASSET — Authorities say a Maine man died from his injuries after his riding tractor toppled over a retaining wall and landed on top of him.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department says rescue crews found 89-year-old Edward Lincoln pinned underneath the tractor on Monday in Newcastle. He died later at Miles Memorial Hospital in Damariscotta.

The sheriff’s department says the accident was reported by Lincoln’s wife, who heard a crash and went to check on her husband. The retaining wall was about 5 feet high.
