ROXBURY — A Roxbury man was flown to Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston early Monday afternoon with serious injuries resulting from a farm tractor rolling over him.
Med-Care Ambulance Service Director Dean Milligan said the man, estimated to be in his early 70s, was repairing the tractor in a barn on his property on the Roxbury Road when the repairs apparently caused the engine to start.
Milligan declined to identify the man.
He said the large, traditional farm tractor rolled over the man’s chest and head.
LifeFlight was immediately notified. The local ambulance service took the man to the Rumford Hospital helipad where he was loaded onto the helicopter.
Milligan said another man who was also working on the tractor, did everything right. He kept the injured man still and immediately called 911.
Milligan believes the injuries are not life-threatening.
