Man’s body found in Conn. lake


PRESTON, Conn. (AP) – State police divers found the body of a 39-year-old Norwich man in Amos Lake in Preston on Tuesday morning.

The man was identified as Richard Semancik. His body was taken to the Office of the Chief State Medical Examiner for an autopsy.

Divers started searching the lake Monday after someone called to report a partially submerged canoe.

The search resumed Tuesday and Semancik’s body was discovered about 10:30 a.m., police said.
