Margaret E. Sampson


AUBURN – Margaret E. Sampson, 94, of Turner died Sunday, April 23, at the Hospice House.

She was born in Turner on March 7, 1912, the daughter of William and Alice Tripp Tidswell. She attended schools in Turner and graduated from Leavitt Institute. She had been employed at Priscilla Turner Rug Co. She married Cleon A. Sampson, he passed away in 1966.

She was an avid beano player and enjoyed reading and spending time with her family. She especially enjoyed the daily visits from her granddaughter, Bambi and her son-in-law, Bob, for bringing her french toast.

She is survived by her children, Arthur of California, Joanne Magoon of Dixfield, Wayne and Edith, Robert and Goldie, Dianne Hammond and her companion, James Irish and Linda and Robert Gauthier, all of Turner; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; a brother, Earland Tidswell; four sisters, Eleanor Tidswell, Phyllis Richardson, Thelma Seamans and Doris Russell; several nieces and nephews; and her caregivers, Jaime Ricker and Domonique Richardson.

She was predeceased by a great-grandson, Brett McLaughlin; two brothers, Lawrence Tidswell and Charles Tidswell; a sister, Marion Tucker; and two sons-in-law, Dale Magoon and Malvern Hammond.
