Margaret Ragsdale Blake


Brunswick – Margaret R. Blake went home to the lord on Friday, Jan. 19, at Parkview Hospital.

She was born in Mt. View, Okla., on March 1, 1917, a daughter to the late Ben and Minnie Zimmerman. She married Albert Ragsdale in 1937, and together they had three children, Betty, Glenda and Therman, then in 1953, they moved to Stockton Calif., from Mt. View, where Diana and Michael were born.

She was a loving mother and grandmother, and was a Jesus Name Minister of the Pentecostal Church for 50 years. She also took in foster children for 10 years. After her husband Albert died on Feb. 5, 1990, she married longtime friend, Dorce Blake. In 2002, they moved to Lisbon so her daughter Diana could help them in their later years.

She is survived by two sons, Therman Ragsdale, and his wife, Candee, of Powell, Wyo., and Michael Ragsdale, and his wife, Shelli, of Jacksonville, Fla.; two daughters, Glenda Elder, and her husband, David, of Duluth, Minn., and Diana McLaughlin of Lisbon; 10 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.

She was predeceased by a daughter, Betty Winchell; her husband, Albert Ragsdale; and 10 brothers and sisters.
