Marguerite M. Castonguay
1937 – 2010
FARMINGTON – Marguerite M. Castonguay, 72, passed away early Sunday morning, May 2, at Sandy River Nursing Home, where she had been a resident for several years.
She was born on Oct. 11, 1937, in Jay, the daughter of Leo and Rose (Breton) Legere. She was a graduate of St. Rose School and Jay High School. On July 11, 1959, at St. Rose of Lima Church, she married her husband of 50 years, Andre Castonguay. She was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed caring for her family and their home. Marguerite was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church and a member of The Daughters of Isabella.
She is survived by her husband, Andre Castonguay of Livermore Falls; three sons, Lucien Castonguay and his wife, Linda, of Abington, Va., Marcel Castonguay of Jay and George Castonguay and his wife, Denise, of Jay: two daughters, Noella Loon and her husband, Raymond, of Jay and Celine Gilbert and her husband, Thomas, of New Gloucester; 15 grandchildren; her brother, Adrien Legere and his wife, Mary Lou; three sisters, Theresa Legere, Jeannine Perreault and her husband, Robert and Aline Purington and her husband, Larry, all of Jay.
She was predeceased by her parents; and a brother, Lucien Legere.
