LEWISTON — Marilyn S. Thompson, 82, of New Auburn, died Monday, Dec. 22, at Central Maine Medical Center.
She was born in Washburn, a daughter of the late Lloyd and Olive Bailey Stairs. She was educated in Caribou schools and was married to Edgar H. Thompson in 1950.
Marilyn worked for many years at W.S. Libbey Mill and later at Montello Manor.
She enjoyed gardening and cooking. Marilyn will be remembered as a caring, loving and giving person.
She is survived by her husband, Edgar, of New Auburn; a daughter, Lori Lynn Thompson, of New Auburn; a son, Darin Thompson and wife, Jennifer, of Poland; a grandson, Michael Girouard, of Boston, Mass.; three sisters, Dorothy Adams and Jeannette Hanson, both of Caribou, and Earlene Hopkins of Windham; three sisters-in-law, Jeannette Stairs and Joan Stairs, both of Caribou, and Ruth Plummer of Medway; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by a son, Brian L. Thompson; two brothers, Claude and Walter “Buzzy” Stairs; and five brothers-in-law, Clarence “Sonny” Plummer, Wendell Thompson, David Hopkins, Paul Hanson and Phil Adams.
