TURNER — Mary Elizabeth Kimball, 78, of Turner died on Monday, May 3, at her home with her husband by her side after battling cancer.

She was born in Durham, July 21, 1931, the daughter of Vernon and Bertha (Shaw) Shaw. She attended Lisbon schools. She married Roy E. Kimball on Nov. 22, 1952. Together they enjoyed 57 years of marriage.

While raising seven children, they lived in Durham, Brunswick, Hebron and Turner. She worked at B.E. Cole in Norway, Gould and Scammon in Auburn and later as a childcare provider for several families, including the Leavitts of Turner.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, gardening, children and helping people. She also enjoyed reading, church events, music, animals, ocean trips, camp, Scrabble and making puzzles. She was very active with her church, a devoted and dedicated Christian.

She is survived by her husband, Roy E. Kimball of Turner; children, Timothy Kimball of Livermore Falls, Jeffery Kimball of Turner, Michael Kimball of Norway, Gregory Kimball and his wife, Ellen, of Canton, Pamela Gammon and her fiancé, David Goodrow, of Buckfield and Karen Hartford and her husband, Tony, of Cumberland; grandchildren, Renee and her fiancé, Mike, of Canton, Travis and his wife, Jamie, of Poland, Amanda of Auburn, Kerri, Jessica and Christina of Canton, Cole and Reid of Cumberland; great-grandchildren, Hunter and Heather of Canton and Arianna and Levi of Poland; siblings, Helen Searles of West Enfield, Mildred Neeley of Buffalo, N.Y., and Charles Shaw and his wife, Barbara, of Auburn; many nieces, nephews, cousins, in-laws, and many special friends.

She was predeceased by her parents; eight of her 12 siblings; and her beloved son, Kenneth.

The family wishes to express thanks to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, Dr. Trudi Chase and Calvary Baptist Church.
