FARMINGTON — Mary Lee Hammond, 70, of Wilton, died early evening Friday, Jan. 11, at the Sandy River Center.
She was born in Canaan, Sept. 29, 1942, a daughter of Carroll Deane and Sadie May (Nason) Salisbury and received her education in local schools. On June 22, 1969, she married Gerald R. “Gerry” Hammond and they made their home in Wilton. He died June 27, 2009. Mary was employed as a school teacher for many years.
She is survived by her sister, Arlene Chandler and her husband, Gene, of Mechanic Falls; brother-in-law, Doug Atwood of Skowhegan; sister-in-law, Anne Kezal and her husband, Mike, of Turner; and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her parents; husband; and sisters, Hester Salisbury, Sarah Nightingale and Clara Atwood.
The family would like to thank Mary’s neighbors and the staff at Franklin Memorial Hospital for their care and concern.
