Matthew W. Clark


CLEARWATER, Fla. – Matthew Wayne Clark, 73, of Largo, Fla., died Wednesday, May 10, at Morton Plant Hospital. He moved to Largo in 1986 from his native Rumford.

He was an Army Veteran of the Korean Conflict. He worked as a pipe fitter with Oxford Paper Mill for 40 years until retirement. He was a member of St. Justin the Martyr Catholic Church, the Elks Lodge 862, the American Legion Post 24, the Honeyvine Mobil Home Park Swim Club, and he was a sports enthusiast.

He is survived by his wife, Beatrice, of 52 years; one son, David John Clark, and wife, Julie, of Lancaster, N.H.; one daughter, Cynthia Libby, and husband, Bruce, of Dixfield; eight grandchildren; six stepgrandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

He was predeceased by his parents, Fredrick and Mildred Clark; a son, Matthew Wayne Clark Jr.; two brothers, Ted and Jim Clark; and sister, Susan Zinck.
