Melodie R. Dalot

JAY – Melodie R. Dalot, 50, died Sunday morning, Feb. 28, at her residence on Morse Hill in Jay.
She was born May 11, 1959, in Quantico, Va., the daughter of Wilfred S. and Ardena (Cook) Pomeroy. She attended Messalonskee High School and later received her GED at Jay High School. She married her first husband, Charles Kessinger, in Weld; they later divorced. On July 11, 1995, in Jay, she married Leon Dalot Jr. He passed away November 2009. She worked in the local shoe shops, and as a home health aide for the local health agencies. She enjoyed sewing, fiddleheading in the spring, horses, flowers and gardening, and especially spending time with her grandson, Keegan and granddaughter, Emma.
She is survived by her daughter, Beonka Kessinger; her son, Charles Kessinger II; her grandson, Keegan Turner; and granddaughter ,Emma Hubbell; former husband, Charles Kessinger; and late companion, Steven Morse’s son, Shane Morse, all of Jay; her sister, Wendy Hanson and her companion, Mike Meader, of Chesterville; several aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews, Kenneth and Shelly Tourtelotte, Joshua Rinaldi, and Andrew and Ellyse Pomeroy; also her devoted dog, Indigo.
She was predeceased by her parents; her twin brother, Wayne Pomeroy, in 1961; brothers, Billy Pomeroy in 1976, Robert Pomeroy in 2008; and her companion, Steven Morse, Dec. 12, 2009.
