RUMFORD — Melody A. Stinchfield, 61, died Wednesday, April 21, at the Rumford Hospital with her loving family by her side. She had resided on the Wyman Hill Road, Rumford.
She was born June 6, 1948 in Rumford, the daughter of Michael Marcellino and Rita Jolin Colburn. She was a high school graduate of Stephens High School in Rumford, Class of 1967. She was a homemaker and also had worked as a waitress at Freddie’s Restaurant in Rumford and the Summit at Sunday River. She was a communicant of Parish of the Holy Savior; former member of the Rumford Falls Aerie, No. 1248, F.O.E Aux. She enjoyed her summers at Dummer’s Beach; quilting; basket weaving; and many other crafts. She enjoyed her cat “Gemini” and her friends and “adopted children.” She was married in Rumford on July 2, 1966 to Jerry L. Stinchfield, who died in Rumford on May 10, 2004.
Survivors include her mother,Rita Colburn of Dixfield; daughters Kim Stinchfield of Chesterville; Tammie Trimble & husband, Raymond, of Stockton Springs; Leslie Ellis and companion, Tom Hickson, of Mexico; brothers William Swan of Warren; William Paccione of Aurora, Colo.; and Robert Burgess of Proctor, Vt.; sisters Mary-Ann Hamilton of Newburgh, Rosemary Belisle of Palm Harbor, Fla., Jean Campbell of Nazareth, Pa., Dorothy Soule of Farmington, Judy Roy of Jay, Linda Blaisdell of Saco, and Dottie Pratt of Sebago; grandchildren, Rebecca and Caitlyn Trimble of Stockton Springs.
She was predeceased by her husband, Jerry; brother, Ronald Burgess; and sister, Darlene White.
