Mexico police log


MEXICO — The Mexico Police Department responded to 70 incidents over the past week. Among the incidents were the following:


*Police responded at 9:46 p.m. Dec. 29 to a one-vehicle accident on River Road.

Police Chief Roy Hodsdon said that Debra Snowman, 61, of Dixfield was traveling east on River Road in her Chevy Malibu when a deer jumped into the front of her car.

Hodsdon said that Snowman’s vehicle obtained damage to the front end, but she escaped the accident without any injuries.

The deer was not found after the accident.

Counterfeit Money:

*A Wal-Mart employee reported at 1:51 p.m. Dec. 29 that the store had received counterfeit money sometime during the previous week.

Police have no leads.


*A Flood Street resident reported at 6:13 p.m. Dec. 27 that someone had broken into two of their unlocked vehicles and stolen change and a Garmin GPS unit.

Hodsdon estimated that a total of $150 had been stolen from the vehicle.


*Leigh Eldredge, 34, of Rumford was arrested on a charge of disorderly conduct at 11:20 p.m., Dec. 20 on Roxbury Road. Eldredge was released on bail and was issued a Rumford District Court date of March 3, 2015.
