BRUNSWICK — The Brunswick Rotary Club will present “Midcoast Maine’s Got Talent” at the Crooker Theater, 116 Maquoit Road, at 7 p.m. Saturday, April 5.
Talented residents of Brunswick, Topsham, Harpswell, Bowdoin and Bowdoinham are encouraged to participate. Applications are available at all of the schools; Shaw’s at Cook’s Corner; Riley Insurance, 139 Maine Street; and Indran’s at the Tontine Mall; as well as others found by following the links on the Brunswick Maine Rotary website.
Applications are due by Saturday, March15, and auditions will be held from 5-8 p.m. on March 15 at the hall in People Plus, 35 Union St. Applications received before March 15, will be able to choose the exact time for their audition.
Awards will be presented to the top talent in the areas of vocal solo, vocal ensemble, instrumental solo, instrumental ensemble, dance and other. The age categories are Youth: 6-12 years old, Teen: 13-18 years old and Adult: 19-99 years old. A panel of judges will determine the winners, with the final winner chosen by the audience. In addition to prizes for each category and age group, the top winner will receive a cash award as well as a trophy.
Community members are encouraged to mark this date on their calendar to support their favorite performer as well as the Brunswick Rotary Club. Your local Rotary Club supports community projects such as the Androscoggin River Bicycle Path and the Androscoggin Riverwalk as well as the Tedford/Merrymeeting Gift Project, the Fourth of July “Fun and Games on the Mall.” The Brunswick Rotary also participates in Mt. Ararat Interact Club, and Rotary International efforts such as curing polio, the Rotoplast Clinics and helping villages gain a clean water supply.
