RUMFORD — On a cold, clear, moonless night in the middle of winter, all is not quite what it seems in the remote, mythical town of Almost, Maine. As the Northern Lights hover in the star-filled sky, Almost’s residents fall in and out of love in unexpected and often funny ways.
Such is the setting for “Almost, Maine,” by John Cariani, which will be presented by Theatre Arts at Mountain Valley High School at 7 p.m. Friday and Saturday, May 7-8. Admission is free.
“Almost, Maine” premiered in 2004 at Portland Stage Company. It opened off-Broadway in 2006 at Daryl Roth Theatre.
Originally from Presque Isle, Cariani has appeared on and off Broadway as well as in films and TV shows.
