LEWISTON — Muriel C. Guerrette, 89, of 12 Elaine Ave., Lewiston, died on Monday, April 11, at her residence with her loving family by her side following a long illness.
She was born in Lewiston on Dec. 3, 1926, the daughter of the late Sylvio and Eva (Cote) Champagne and was a resident of this community all of her life.
She was employed as a floor girl at Knapp Shoe for more than 15 years and then employed in the laundry room at St. Mary’s Hospital, until her retirement.
She married Maurice J. Guerrette on June 23, 1947. He died on Nov. 2, 2003.
Muriel enjoyed playing cards and playing beano with her friends at Meadowview Park.
She is survived by five daughters, Diane Cloutier and her husband, Richard, of Lewiston, Louise Boulay and her husband, Maurice, of Greene, Anita Tanguay and her husband, Gerard, of Lewiston, Pauline Albert of Lewiston and Irene Guerrette of New Gloucester; two sons, Richard Guerrette of Lewiston and Maurice Guerrette Jr. and his wife, Gisele, of Auburn; a sister, Leona Rouleau of Lewiston; seven grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; and many nieces and nephews.
