Mystery authors to read at library

WEST PARIS – The Friends of the West Paris Library invite crime solvers, cleaners and those who enjoy a humorous tale to attend a book reading on Saturday, Aug. 4. Authors Jerome and Suzanne Preisler will read from “The Scene of the Grime,” the first book in their Grime Solvers mystery series, which came out at the beginning of the summer.

The reading and book signing will take place at 2 p.m. at the West Paris Grange, Church Street. It will follow the 9 a.m. to noon Friends’ annual used book sale at the library on Main Street.

Under the pseudonym Suzanne Price, Jerome Preisler and his wife, Suzanne, are the co-authors of “Scene of the Grime” (Signet Books), the first in a series of comedic mysteries featuring 30ish, recently widowed cleaning genius and amateur sleuth Sky Taylor.

Jerome is also the author of two dozen other novels and works of nonfiction, including the New York Times bestselling Tom Clancy’s Power Plays series. With co-author Kenneth Sewell, he has completed a narrative history of the USS Scorpion, to be published in hardcover by Simon and Schuster in April 2008. Also forthcoming from Pocket Books in June ’08 is his original novel, “CSI: Nevada Rose,” based on the long-running CSI television series.
