Nancy J. Knight


NORTH JAY – Nancy J. Knight, 58, of North Jay, died early Sunday morning, Jan. 7, at her home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born, March 24, 1948, in Farmington, a daughter of Leon Rackliff and Bertha Cox.

On Jan. 16, 1965, she married Donald Knight Sr. in Wilton.

They later made their home in North Jay and raised their family. She worked as a cook, cleaner and later at Forster Mfg. in East Wilton for several years.

Her greatest joy in life came with time spent with her family, whether it was camping, hunting trips or time at home, especially with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her husband of nearly 42 years, Donald Knight Sr. of North Jay; a daughter, Corrina Johnson and her husband, Bill, of North Jay; four sons, Donald “Bouncer” Knight Jr. of Jay, Lonnie Knight and his wife, Tiffany, of North Jay, Shane Knight and his wife, Kimberly, of Chesterville and Jamie Knight and his girlfriend, B.J. Steward, of Jay; eight brothers; one sister; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

She was predeceased by her parents; a sister, Beverly Trafton; a daughter, Shannon Knight; a grandson, Jeremiah Johnson; and a granddaughter, Heather Johnson.
