Nathan W. Thistlewaite


PORTLAND – Nathan William Thistlewaite, 15, a resident of 1140 Woodman Hill Road, Minot, died early Saturday, May 20, at Maine Medical Center after a courageous six month battle with leukemia.

He was born in Lewiston, March 20, 1991, the son of Dominic DeFranco and Carol Thistlewaite. He attended Minot schools, and was a full time eighth-grade student until his illness in November 2005.

Nathan loved sports including baseball, basketball, skateboarding, and dirt biking. He also enjoyed music and spending time with his friends.

Survivors include his stepfather, Dan Stevens and his mom, Carol, both of Minot; his brother, Tyler of Minot; his maternal grandmother, Gloria Thistlewaite of Gulfport, Miss.; his steppaternal grandparents, Russell and Sandra Baker of York; four uncles, John Thistlewaite and his wife, Linda, of Gulfport, Miss., Robert Thistlewaite and his wife, Pam, of Connecticut, Richard Thistlewaite and his wife, Tina, of Lewiston and Jeffrey Thistlewaite and his wife, Kim, of Auburn; and many cousins.
