We need a smart energy plan

America’s Arctic wilderness is a natural legacy that belongs to every American, yet Congress continues to strip wilderness designations in the Arctic while funneling money to the pockets of the oil and gas industry.

The “drill-all” agenda of the Bush administration goes against the very theme that Bush announced in his State of the Union: creating renewable energy sources. Drilling in ANWR is not the way to solve our energy needs (one penny savings per gallon of gas 10 years from now).

America needs a smart energy plan that focuses on clean, sustainable energy solutions, not irresponsible proposals that sacrifice our public lands to the oil industry’s bottom line.
