Auburn – Nellie A. Mattock, 94, formerly of 129 Farwell St., Lewiston died Wednesday, May 10, at Odd Fellows & Rebekah’s Home of Maine, where she resided for the past nine months.

She was born in Guerrette, Oct. 28, 1911, a daughter of Frank and Agnes Gagnon Hebert. She was educated in Northern Maine schools. She owned and operated the Good Shepard Nursing Home in Lewiston and Evergreen Manor in Saco with her husband Sarto Sasseville.

She was a member of Saints Peter and Paul’s Parish. She will be remembered as a woman who faced life courageously with a tremendous love of God, family and work. She will be remembered for the legacy as well as the existance of Evergreen Manor, Schooner Estates, Clover Manor and Odd Fellows and Rebekah’s Home of Maine.

She is survived by a daughter, Louise Sasseville-Maheux and her husband, Richard, of Lewiston; two sons, Dr. Sarto Sasseville of Lewiston, John Sasseville of Lewiston; 12 grandchildren and spouses, Joshua Gillis, Corey Gillis-Saenz, Seth and Sara Gillis, Tara and Brian Verville, Steve Sasseville, Kevin and Cindy Sasseville, Lisa Marie Sasseville and their mother Lyse Sasseville, Christie and Matthew McNally, Dr. Chandra Sasseville, Dr. Tasha Sasseville, Trisha Sasseville, Dawn-Marie Sasseville and their mother Gail Sasseville; 19 great-grandchildren, Casey, Mahalia, Pierre, Samuel, Benjamin, Shea, Liam, Aubrey, Amber, Danah, Hans, Cordelia, Eden, Emily, Matthew, Jacob, Nicholas, Kayla and Heather; three sisters, Sister Rella Hebert, SCIM and Sister Nora Hebert, SCIM both of Biddeford Pool and Mrs. Lillian Perreault of Lewiston; numerous nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her parents; husbands, Sarto Sasseville and Albert Mattock; a son, Marcel Sasseville; a granddaughter, Darcy Gillis; a great-grandson, Alex Sasseville; a sister and five brothers.

Her children and family would like to say a very special and heartfelt thank you, to the staff at Odd Fellows for the outstanding care that she received. Our mother would have been proud of the excellent care, respect and compassion that the residents of this facility continue to receive.
