1938 – 2014
BUSHNELL, Fla. — Nelly Suzanne (Colin) Ducharme was born in Maisons-Alfort, France, on Oct. 14, 1938, and passed away after a long illness on Dec. 23, in Bushnell, Fla.
Her parents were Christiane Caillaud and Maurice Colin. Nelly married Roland B. Ducharme on March 21, 1959, in Creteil, France. She relocated to Lewiston in 1960.
Nelly is survived by seven children, Arlene Jones, Norman Ducharme, Corinna Cormier and spouse, Philippe “Tadd,” Brigitte Whitten and spouse, Stephen, Derrick Ducharme and spouse, Amy, Craig Ducharme and Crystal Ducharme. She is survived by 16 grandchildren, Christian Ducharme, Edwina and Sheldon Jones, Celia Mawhinney and her husband, Angus, Candace Whitten, Desiree, Trevor and Skylar Ducharme, Maryah, Kayla and Bentlee Ducharme, MacKenzie Quimby and Hunter Quimby, Christopher Horovitz, Katelyn and Madelyn Norman-Wilson and Donnie and Harley Stanley; and two great-grandchildren, Joseph Ducharme and Olynthia Rowe. She is survived by two sisters, Monique and Yveline, and a brother, Yves, all of France; as well as many nieces and nephews. She is also survived by a special daughter-in-law, Carolyn Ducharme, who cared for her until the end.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Doreen, in 1959; and her husband, Roland, in 1999.
Nelly enjoyed dancing, playing bingo and watching NASCAR and WWE. She loved to read romance novels and travel. She also enjoyed Native American culture.
