ADAMSTOWN TOWNSHIP — A New Hampshire motorcyclist was injured Sunday afternoon when he lost control of a motorcycle on Route 16, Rangeley Fire Rescue Chief Tim Pellerin said Monday.

Game Warden Harry Wiegman who was at the scene of the accident reported at 6:14 p.m., that the motorcycle had been heading south toward Rangeley when the driver basically lost control and went off into the grass and was thrown from the motorcycle. It was a grassy area that was soft.

He documented information about the accident for the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office, he said. Wiegman was closer to the scene than a deputy.

He deferred questions on other information about the accident to the Oxford County Sheriff’s Office.

The name of the driver injured was not immediately available.

The driver was taken by a NorthStar EMS ambulance to Rumford Hospital, Pellerin said.
