WINTHROP — Mamas and Muffins is a free mothers group open to all new mamas and their pre-crawling babies. Drop in anytime from 9 to 10 a.m. the first and third Monday of the month, have a muffin and tea and chat with other new moms.
From 10 a.m. to 11, there will be a short presentation or speaker, with time for women to share their experiences, ask questions and get support. Christina Kennedy, independent childbirth educator and mother of two, hosts the group as a place for women to share the joys and challenges of new motherhood.
April 5: Guest speaker Diane Vinal, from Parents as Teachers, on taking care of yourself.
April 19: Signing with your baby.
May 3: Baby massage, with Kim Nixon.
May 17: Safety concerns from car seats and safe sleeping, to babyproofing.
Mamas and Muffins meets at the Winthrop United Methodist Church, 58 Main St., upstairs in the nursery. While the church hosts the space, Mamas and Muffins is a separate, secular group.
