New students can still enroll for fall

AUBURN – Admissions representatives at Central Maine Community College have begun an effort to encourage people who have been thinking about attending in the fall to begin the process now.

“There is still time to apply for admission and enroll in fall courses at CM,” said Admissions Director Betsy Libby. “Most programs still have space, but some will fill up soon. Fall classes start Sept. 4, so we want to encourage anyone interested in joining us for the fall to get started now.”

Libby has outlined the following steps to follow for fall enrollment:

• Complete an application for admission online or download the application form from the Web at www.cmcc.edu/admissions.

• Obtain high school transcript or a copy of official GED test scores. If applicable, transcripts from any previously attended colleges will also be required.

• Complete the financial aid application online at www.federalstudentaid.ed.gov. It can be done before the application for admission is submitted.

• Go to the college admissions office with a completed application, required transcripts, and the $20 application fee.

Applicants will have the opportunity to meet with an admission representative to discuss the next steps. Some may receive an admission decision on the spot and be able to set up their fall course schedule that same day.

A financial aid representative will be available, and students will also be able to take or sign up for the college’s placement assessment (the admissions representative will advise if this is required).

While appointments are recommended, walk-ins are welcome. The admissions office can be reached at 755-5273 or 800-891-2002, ext. 273, or at enroll@cmcc.edu. Evening appointments are available.

The college also recently announced the addition of four new sports that will begin in the school year. Men’s soccer, women’s volleyball and a coed golf program will get under way this fall, with the men’s volleyball team starting its first season in the spring of 2008. The admissions office can provide additional information.
