Newry board holds discussions

NEWRY — There were no action items on Monday afternoon’s Board of Selectmen agenda, just a few minor matters to discuss, Administrator Loretta Powers said Tuesday morning.

“We didn’t do much of anything,” she said.

What little they did do was talk about the Bryant Pond Conservation School Scholarship money, for which town meeting voters last month agreed to raise $600; what to do about junkyards in town without really settling on anything; and getting a generator for both the town office and the Bear River Fire Station.

A scheduled discussion with a bridge contractor was tabled to the board’s next meeting at 4 p.m. Monday, April 12, after he failed to show up.
