AUBURN — Commuters crossing the Longley Bridge from Lewiston to Auburn may want to find a different way home tonight.
Officials are warning that work on the railroad crossing at Court Street in Auburn may cause a traffic delay on Main Street in Lewiston on Friday afternoon.
The Federal Rail System will begin work on the crossing at noon today. Traffic from Lewiston crossing the Longley Bridge into Auburn will be re-routed away from the work area.
According to a press release from the City of Lewiston, officials believe the re-route will cause congestion on Main Street in Lewiston as traffic is re-routed in Auburn. The work may last through the evening commute.
