The American Cancer Society is dedicated to creating a world with less cancer and more birthdays. But helping create these birthdays has taken hard work – decades of scientific research, advocacy, patient support, and much more. Thanks in part to the Society’s work, 11 million cancer survivors will celebrate another birthday this year. Each year, the American Cancer Society helps save 350 lives every day. The American Cancer Society has programs and services in Androscoggin County and in local communities all over Maine to help people with cancer and their loved ones understand cancer, manage their lives through treatment and recovery, and find the emotional support they need. And best of all, the help is free. The American Cancer Society is available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year for help, information, and support.
