Outlook: The Phoenix enjoyed an undefeated regular season and boasted the MVC player of the year, Ventrella, in their first season as a combined program. Ventrella has graduated along with five key defensive players, but numbers (40 players), energy and expectations remain high. Much of Spruce's returning talent is on the offensive end, so expect the team to be fast and explosive and geared to win high-scoring games.
Coach's comment: "So far the energy level is good, spirits are high and excitement is elevated. This year's team looks just as promising." — Coach Jane DiPompo
