Freeport teacher suspended for in class comments

FREEPORT, Maine (AP) — A Freeport Middle School teacher has been suspended after allegedly making an inappropriate threatening remark during a class earlier this month.

Superintendent Shannon Welsh says the seventh-grade teacher was suspended after she received several complaints from parents and students.

She did not disclose the teacher's name or the exact nature of the remarks.

The teacher has been barred from entering the school building until the investigation is complete.

The teacher's lawyer tells WMTW-TV that he is confident that the "exaggerations" will be put to rest. He says the 30-year teaching veteran with an exemplary record has received support from students and colleagues.

Teacher's Record

Just because you've been a teacher for 30 years doesn't give you the right to say whatever you want, Mr. Teacher Man. Maybe it's time you retired. What do you think these kids made this up? Seriously Man. Time to Retire.

Well, the SJ should have

Well, the SJ should have disclosed what the teacher said, so we would be able to evaluate whether it was appropriate or not. We cannot rely on a cover-up from the school.

This seems to be a classic case of an adult vs. kids in the classroom and who rules what and why . Children ruling the world ? Remember ' Lord of the Flys ?'anyone http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lord_of_the_Flies Look no further than Cambodia and the killing fields & 14 yr olds w/ machine guns . This may be a witch hunt
Stix and stones will break my bones but names will never harm me

Teachers have a thankless job , like policemen and women , E M S , nurses , and firemen and women
Try doing their job some day for a full eight hours . One day . With your kids
