The former Niky's Restaurant on Lowell Street in Lewiston, behind the former Knapp Shoe Building, has been torn down to create more parking for nearby Central Maine Medical Center, according to city officials. The Greek restaurant closed last July after owner Niky Karamousadakis was seriously injured in a kitchen fire. The restaurant reopened in December at 29 Lisbon St.
