Credit union gives pet rescue equipment to Poland Fire Department

Poland Fire Chief Mark Bosse, left, and Poland Firefighter Richard Salmonson hold the two Wag’N O2 Fur Life Kits that Community Credit Union recently donated to the Poland Fire Department. The kits will allow firefighters to administer oxygen to house pets that suffer smoke inhalation, carbon monoxide poisoning and heat exhaustion. The kits contain three different-sized oxygen masks for pets. The special design allows firefighters to administer oxygen to many types of pets, including dogs, cats and even birds. All members of the Poland Fire Department will receive training and instructions on how to use the masks as well as how to perform CPR on cats and dogs. Community Credit Union has branches at 144 Pine St., Lewiston and 40 Stanley St., Auburn.
